The Dr. Michael H. Newberg '86 Memorial Book Fund

Michael H. Newberg, MD, PhD, an Infectious Disease specialist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and on staff at Harvard Medical School, passed away suddenly on November 22, 2005. He was 42. Michael spent his undergraduate years at Brown University, receiving both BA and BS degrees, and then earned MD and PhD degrees at The University of Virginia. Michael was a devoted husband and father of two who cherished the time he spent with his family. This fund, established in 2009 by Dr. and Mrs. Marc Newberg, in memory of their son, Michael, will be used for the preservation and acquisition of library resources in the biological sciences with an emphasis on immunology and infectious disease.
