As of September 2011 the Library holds 12,500 videos and DVDs which are individually cataloged in Josiah, the Library's online catalog. Request VFNow online screenings through OCRA course reserves.

DVD Loan Periods

Locations which house video materials are:

  • The Friedman Study Center located in the Sciences Library at the corner of Thayer and Waterman Streets houses a collection of entertainment DVDs available for student use only. About the Entertainment DVD collection.

    Effective August 17, 2009, the University Library assumed responsibility for housing and circulating the print and video collections of the Language Resource Center (LRC). The video collections have been moved to the Sciences Library. The Friedman Center information desk on Level A of the SciLi is now the service point for LRC videos. Library staff will retrieve requested titles and bring them to users at the Friedman desk. Circulation policies have not changed.

  • The John Hay Library is located at 20 Prospect Street. All materials are non-circulating.

  • The Orwig Music Library is located on the 1st floor of Orwig Music Building at 1 Young Orchard Avenue. See Media Circulation Policies

  • The Library Collections Annex is located at 10 Park Lane in Providence. Requesting Materials from the Annex

  • The The Rockefeller is located at 10 Prospect Street in Providence. Most videos are in a storage location at the Rock and must be paged by staff.
