watchOilWaterIncoming first-year and transfer students at Brown University will be viewing Oil & Water as part of this year’s First Readings program. The film is a coming-of-age story of two boys, from two different backgrounds, confronting one of the world’s worst toxic disasters.

Learn more about the program from the email sent by Dean Margaret Klawunn to first-year students.

Each student will write and submit a letter to their advisor. Letters should be submitted online by August 15.

Students can submit their letters here.

In the fall the directors will be on campus to discuss the film.

This site has been created as a tool to help new students further explore the issues relevant in Oil & Water while also becoming familiar with the resources available through the Brown Library.
