State Historical Journals

Brown subscribes to many, but not all, of the journals issued by state historical societies and historical associations, as well as a number of journals published by local historical societies and museums.

While a number of these journals may still exist only in print form at present, most now have searchable indexes or tables of contents online. Some may also be indexed in the America: History and Life citation database. The number of state historical journals available in digital form is growing. JSTOR is the most active, but not the only, online repository for state historical journals. Some states, notably Florida, have included their state historical journal in statewide digitization projects. It is important to keep in mind that these projects may have different goals. JSTOR comprises a digital backfile, and will therefore include older material, while other projects may focus on recent digital content.

Following are links for publicly available online indices, abstracts, tables of contents and full text archives of state historical journals.
