    A display covering the evolution of time measurement, from the Physics Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Includes a link to other NIST exhibits on time and frequency.

  • The Measurers
    Based on a Flemish painting, this online exhibit explores the significance of the practical mathematics movement of Renaissance Europe and its attention to measurements of various kinds and by various means. From the Museum of the History of Science at Oxford University (UK).

    Authored by Frank Tapson and hosted by the University of Exeter (UK), this online reference provides conversion tables and explanations for various types of measurements. A condensed version is also available. This was a project of the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching, located at the University of Plymouth (UK).
