A bill is only a draft of a law. It needs to be discussed and worked upon before it is voted on.
How to Understand the Document
1) Bill numbers are given on top. 2) Many times bills deal with amending existing laws. You can tell the modification by seeing text that is striken out and underlined text is being entered.

- You can do keyword searching in the texts online back to 1997.
- Bills are numbered by year, chamber, and number of bill. For example, 2005 -H 6052 "An Act Relating to Food and Drugs - The Rhode Island Medical Marijuana Act" is a House bill numbered 6052 in 2005.
