Subjects & Interests
I am responsible for most subjects concerning the premodern world: Early Cultures, Egyptology & Assyriology, Classics, Medieval Studies, Renaissance & Early Modern Studies, but I also cover some areas of modern history as well as Philosophy and Religious Studies. I am also the curator of the medieval manuscripts and early printed books in the John Hay Library.
My subject training is in medieval history, and I do research on the history of the papacy and canon law in the Middle Ages, as well as on medieval books and libraries.
