Pollard: Sponsor of Youth and Athletes

Throughout his long life, Pollard was “ever true” to Brown and maintained his interest in the success of the University’s football program — he simply loved the game! That deep and abiding affection for sport came through most clearly in his interactions with young football players, as well as through his active involvement in a number of organizations that promoted the game, such as the Pop Warner League, the National Football Foundation, and the Touchdown Club of New York.

During a campus visit in the 1970s, Pollard posed with future All-Americans in front of Lyman Hall, not far from the site of the 1916 bonfire rallies that celebrated Brown’s victories over Yale and Harvard.

Pollard served as the Honorary Vice President of The Touchdown Club of New York.
