Cartonera Chapbooks

Dulcinéia Catadora
Dulcinéia Catadora is a collective from São Paulo formed by people of diverse backgrounds and age groups – artists, writers, street cardboard collectors, and children – who together design and publish chapbooks with recycled cardboard covers. The collective buys cardboard from carroceiros (street collectors) at a fair price, cuts out pieces to create book covers and paints them one by one with gouache. It is a model of creative sustainable economy that supports street collectors and their families, as well as promotes reading and the work of new and unknown writers.
