It also provides access to newspapers no longer published in paper, such as <em>Jornal do Brazil<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the oldest and most rare nineteenth-century publications are, <em>O Espelho, Reverbero Constitucional Fluminense, O Jornal das Senhoras, O Homem de Cor, Marmota Fluminense, Semana Illustrada, A Vida Fluminense, O Mosquito, A Rep\u00fablica, Gazeta de Not\u00edcias, Revista Illustrada, O Besouro, O Abolicionista, Correio de S. Paulo, Correio do Povo, O Paiz, Di\u00e1rio de Not\u00edcias<\/em>, and also the first provincial newspapers from the Imperial period.<\/p>\n<p>From the twentieth century, can be found very important magazines like <em>Careta, O Malho, O Gato, Revista da Semana, Klaxon, Revista Verde, Diretrizes<\/em> and newspapers that shaped the history of the press in Brazil, such as <em>A Noite, Correio Paulistano, A Manha, A Manh\u00e3<\/em> and <em>\u00daltima Hora<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br\/site\/acervo\/jornais_revistas\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Newspapers and Magazines &#8211;\u00a0Arquivo P\u00fablico do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nProvides access to publications by the Imprensa Oficial, such as <em>Di\u00e1rio Oficial do Estado<\/em>, as well as national newspapers and magazines. Contains 235,000 copies of newspapers, 30,000 copies of magazines and 16 thousand copies of serial publications (reports, newsletters, minutes).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br\/uhdigital\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Ultima Hora<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0Arquivo P\u00fablico\u00a0do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nProvides access to 166,000 photographs, 600,000 negatives, 2,223 illustrations and a collection of editions of\u00a0<em>Ultima Hora<\/em> from Rio de Janeiro for the years 1951-1970.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br\/memoriaimprensa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mem\u00f3ria da Imprensa &#8211; Arquivo P\u00fablico do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nA selection of articles\u00a0from the 1940s, published in newspapers and magazines available in the digital collection of Arquivo P\u00fablico do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo. The selected content is divided into four sections: <em>Reportagens<\/em>, DEIP, <em>Imprensa Negra<\/em> and <em>Variedades<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lae.princeton.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Digital Archive of Latin American and Caribbean Ephemera &#8211; Princeton University<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nEarly 20th century to 2014. The formats included are pamphlets, flyers, leaflets, brochures, posters, stickers, and postcards. Created by a wide array of social activists, non-governmental organizations, government agencies, political parties, public policy think tanks, and other types of organizations in order to publicize their views, positions, agendas, policies, events, and activities. Rare primary sources unavailable elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Books and maps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bndigital.bn.br\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Biblioteca Nacional Digital<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Archives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br\/site\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Arquivo P\u00fablico\u00a0do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nThe Public Archives of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo preserves and holds numerous historical documents, photographs, maps, illustrations, newspapers, magazines and books. More than 400,000 images from scanned documents are now available through open access.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nphed.cedeplar.ufmg.br\/\" target=\"_blank\">Censo demogr\u00e1fico de 1872<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe first Brazilian census to include data on the slave population.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arquivoestado.sp.gov.br\/site\/acervo\/repositorio_digital\/escravos\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da mem\u00f3ria da escravid\u00e3o &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Arquivo P\u00fablico\u00a0do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong><\/a><br \/>\nDocuments consists of 11 boxes and 20 bound files, and covers the years\u00a01764 to 1890. The documents come from various administrative offices in the Province of S\u00e3o Paulo in the nineteenth century, such as: Ministry of Agriculture, Trade and Public Works; Palace of the Government of S\u00e3o Paulo Province; Presidency of the Province of S\u00e3o Paulo; Ministry of War; Municipalities of the Province of S\u00e3o Paulo; Boards for the Classification of Slaves; Parishes of the municipalities of the Province of S\u00e3o Paulo and the Office of General Revenue. The documentation consists of letters from the Provincial Slave Classification Boards and records of the letters sent from\u00a0the Palace of\u00a0the Province to the Municipal Councils, bodies responsible for carrying out the work of the Slave Classification Boards.
