The developer will collaborate with Brown systems and<br \/>\ndevelopment staff, staff at Wheaton College, and other TAPAS<br \/>\nparticipants, to create, refine, and implement ideas for building the<br \/>\nservice, and will work with those groups to test and roll out new web<br \/>\napplications. Additionally, the developer will customize Drupal and<br \/>\nthe underlying Fedora repository to enable a broad set of interactions<br \/>\nto support the publication of encoded texts, and will develop an API<br \/>\nto provide programmatic access to TAPAS data.<\/p>\n<p>The TEI Archiving, Publishing and Access Service, or TAPAS<br \/>\n(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tapasproject.org\">http:\/\/www.tapasproject.org<\/a>),  is a new community service for<br \/>\nscholars and other creators of TEI materials who need a place to<br \/>\npublish and archive their data and ensure it remains accessible over<br \/>\ntime. TAPAS will provide repository services with a user-friendly<br \/>\ninterface for contributing, managing, and publishing TEI data, and<br \/>\nwill also offer training and supporting services for those who need<br \/>\nhelp developing and publishing their projects.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\n        Bachelors degree or equivalent education and experience<br \/>\n        2-5 years of demonstrated experience and proficiency<br \/>\nplanning, developing, and maintaining web sites and back-end systems.<br \/>\n        Substantial experience with PHP; Drupal experience strongly preferred.<br \/>\n        Familiarity with XML, XSLT, Solr, and Fedora Commons desirable.<br \/>\n        Experience developing web applications using APIs and web services.<br \/>\n        Familiarity with TEI &amp; common metadata standards (e.g., MODS,<br \/>\nDublin Core) desirable<br \/>\n        Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully as<br \/>\npart of a distributed team.<\/p>\n<p>This is a 2-year full time position with the possibility of renewal,<br \/>\ncontingent on funding.
