In an interview with the New York Times, Haynes explained the books in terms of his process as \u201ca way of communicating beyond words that gets to the crux of what the mood, temperature and stylistic references would be.\u201d (January 28, 2016)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Todd Haynes graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Art-Semiotics (1985).
