Nakayasu\u2019s project\nproposes an innovative use of interwoven media to illuminate the complex poetry\nof Chika Sagawa as well as to broaden the scope of literary translation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.brown.edu\/libnews\/mellon-grant-2019\/\">With continued support\nfrom the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation<\/a>, Brown\u2019s Digital Publications\nInitiative seeks to advance\nhumanities scholarship by providing a university-based approach to the development, evaluation,\nand publication of born-digital scholarly monographs. With oversight from Brown\u2019s\nDigital Scholarship Editor, projects that are selected by the Initiative\u2019s\nDigital Publications Advisory Board are developed as digital works that draw\nupon the capabilities of the Library\u2019s Center for Digital Scholarship. These\nscholarly works are then submitted to leading university presses that have\ncorresponding academic interests and the infrastructure for peer review and\ndigital publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Nakayasu and Schneider\u2019s projects, digital works currently under development include:<em> Furnace and Fugue: A Digital Edition of Michael Maier\u2019s<\/em> Atalanta fugiens <em>(1618) with Scholarly Commentary<\/em>, co-edited by Tara Nummedal, Professor of History, and Independent Scholar Donna Bilak (forthcoming with University of Virginia Press); <em>Italian Shadows: A Curious History of Virtual Reality<\/em> by Massimo Riva, Professor and Chair of Italian Studies; <em>The Sensory Monastery: Saint-Jean-des-Vignes<\/em>, co-authored by Sheila Bonde, Professor of History of Art and Architecture and Professor of Archaeology, and Clark Maines, Professor Emeritus of Art History at Wesleyan University; <em>Islamic Pasts and Futures: Gazing at Horizons of Time<\/em> by Shahzad Bashir, Director of Middle East Studies, Aga Khan Professor of Islamic Humanities, and Professor of Religious Studies; and <em>Nicholas Brown and The Roman Revolution of 1848\u20131849<\/em> by David Kertzer, Paul R.
