This service is available to Brown students, faculty, and staff who want to experiment with digital scholarly platforms, develop a research project, and\/or share your work. Digital Scholarship at Brown complements Brown&#8217;s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brown.edu\/university-communications\/digital\/websites\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.brown.edu\/university-communications\/digital\/websites\" target=\"_blank\">existing web offerings<\/a> such as Brown Blogs, Canvas, and Google Sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Use Digital Scholarship at Brown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This service allows you to manage your digital research and digital presence \u2014 including digital projects for theses and dissertations, storytelling, group collaboration, and public scholarship. Through Digital Scholarship at Brown, you can manage a Brown subdomain of your own onto which you can easily install applications like WordPress, Omeka, or mySQL along with specialized plugins, as well as access the command line directly (with some restrictions) so you can run software and develop stand-alone web sites.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you leave Brown, you may continue to own and manage your site by transferring your Digital Scholarship at Brown domain to a personal <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/reclaimhosting.com\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/reclaimhosting.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reclaim Hosting<\/a> domain, or to another hosting service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in the Digital Scholarship at Brown service, please look over the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digitalscholarship.brown.edu\/homepage\/guidelines\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/digitalscholarship.brown.edu\/homepage\/guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\">guidelines for use<\/a>.
