2025 Summer Program Schedule<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Partnership with Brown Emergency Medical Services and The Readmobile <\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Brown EMS (BEMS) has two emergency response vehicles- the ambulance and the non-transport vehicle named, Utility. Utility can respond to emergencies and provide emergency medical assistance\/support while the ambulance is unavailable (while it is with another patient, etc), or to get there quickly while an ambulance is on the way (smaller vehicle, easier to navigate crowds\/streets). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meet Utility, explore the vehicle and learn about our emergency medical staff (and students) at one of the Providence Parks listed below Providence Parks from11:30 am – 2:30 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown University students, Will and Aaron, will lead Where Does Water Go<\/em>?<\/strong> a hands-on program for families to understand what materials absorb water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with the Sarah Doyle Center for Women and Gender and the LGBTQ Center at Brown University, we are excited to welcome Kyle to Brown. In partnership with the Native American and Indigenous Studies Initiative at Brown University, we are excited to welcome Danielle Shandiin Emerson, a Din\u00e9 writer from Shiprock, New Mexico on the Navajo Nation. Her clans are T\u0142aashchi\u2019i (Red Cheek People Clan), born for Ta\u2019neezaahn\u00ed\u00ed (Tangled People Clan). This event will be held at Providence Public Library.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday, August 17, 2024<\/strong> \u2022 11:00 AM\u201412:30 PM \u2022 Visit the Plant Environmental Center (Greenhouse) at Brown University, located on the rooftop of the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. The conservatory’s collection includes many plant families, including a diverse collection of Cycads, Orchids, Aroids, and plants from the Amazon region. Following a tour, we welcome you to our classroom to create art pieces with pressed plants and flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Brown University<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Brown was founded in 1764 \u2014 the third college in New England and the seventh in Colonial America. Originally located in Warren, Rhode Island, and called the College of Rhode Island, Brown moved to its current spot on College Hill overlooking Providence in 1770 and was renamed in 1804 in recognition of a $5,000 gift from Nicholas Brown, a prominent Providence businessman and alumnus, Class of 1786.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
