John Caserta is a\u00a0designer, artist, and educator.<\/p>\n
He has created and produced information-design projects and data-driven applications for The New York Times<\/a>, Reuters<\/a>, The Normandy Visitor’s Center in France<\/a>, NBC<\/a>, the NCAA<\/a> and more<\/a>.<\/p>\n On November 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the Digital Scholarship Lab, Caserta will give a talk titled “Data-driven Design Systems for the Web<\/strong>.” He will discuss his experience creating static information-design projects as well as working collaboratively on data-driven reusable systems for designers, educators, and the general public.<\/p>\n Since 2007, Caserta has focused his efforts locally, initiating, and fostering The Design Office<\/a>\u2014a community of independent designers centered downtown on Westminster Street. The Design Office has 16 members working in a variety of design, programming, and spatial disciplines.<\/p>\n In 2012, Caserta became an Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design Department at RISD, but has been teaching part-time since 2006, and a resident of Providence since 2005.
