As part of the conference, the Library is mounting an exhibit featuring two independent publishers from Brazil: Dulcin\u00e9ia Catadora and Mariposa Cartonera, entitled &#8220;Cardboard Revolution: Cartoneras, Literacy, and Sustainable Publishing in Brazil.&#8221; The exhibit will be installed in the Finn Room cases at the Rockefeller Library.<\/p>\n<p>Drawn from the diverse materials of Brown University Library\u2019s Brasiliana Collection, the chapbooks in this exhibition showcase the vibrant productions of two independent Brazilian publishing collectives, DULCIN\u00c9IA CATADORA and MARIPOSA CARTONERA. The collectives are representative of the widespread Latin American practice of <em>cartonera<\/em>\u2014an alternative publishing and art venture committed to social activism, economic justice, cooperative creativity, and literacy.
