Consider submitting it to this prize contest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/library.brown.edu\/ugresearchprize\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here for detailed information.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/library.brown.edu\/ugresearchprize\/submissions\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Click here to apply!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deadline: March 19, 2018<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In partnership with the\u00a0<a class=\"main\" href=\"http:\/\/www.brown.edu\/Administration\/Dean_of_the_College\/index.php\">Office of the Dean of the College<\/a>, the\u00a0<a class=\"main\" href=\"http:\/\/library.brown.edu\/\">Brown University Library<\/a>\u00a0sponsors the annual Undergraduate Research Prize. The purpose of the prize is to recognize excellence in undergraduate research projects that make creative and extensive use of the Brown University Library&#8217;s collections, including, but not limited to, print resources, databases, primary resources, and materials in all media. The project may take the form of a traditional paper, a database, a website, or other digital project.<\/p>\n<p>Up to two prizes of $750 each may be given. Prize recipients will be honored at a Library reception and will be asked to give a short presentation on their research projects.<\/p>\n<p>Prize-winning projects will be honored on the Brown University Library website and added to the Brown Archives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants must be\u00a0<strong>current full-time students<\/strong>\u00a0working towards a Brown University undergraduate degree.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Need to have been completed during 2017<\/li>\n<li>Can be submitted by an individual or by a team<\/li>\n<li>Must have been completed for a semester-long, credit-bearing course, either for a class or an independent study<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be a senior honors thesis<\/li>\n<li>Multimedia\/digital projects are encouraged<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Winners will be announced in early April 2018. If you have questions, please contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Heather_Cole@brown.edu\">Heather Cole<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017 Winn<\/strong><strong>ing Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.brown.edu\/libnews\/research-prize-2018\/unnamed-10\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9883\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9883\" src=\"https:\/\/library.brown.edu\/create\/libnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/44\/2018\/03\/unnamed.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"153\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a>The winner of the 2017 Undergraduate Prize for Excellence in Library Research was Vaughn Campbell \u201918, an International Relations Concentrator.<\/p>\n<p>Vaughn submitted a paper entitled, \u201cBrown \u00adin\u00ad China: Brown\u2019s Role in the American Missionary Project of the Early Twentieth Century,\u201d written in the spring of 2016 for Naoko Shibusawa\u2019s course \u201cHIST1554: History of American Empire.\u201d The paper describes a collaboration between Brown University and Shanghai College in 1920.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are you an undergraduate who is working on an interesting research project?
