"A Peculiar Little Army: The British Army from Waterloo to the Marne"
is the title of the seventh annual Anne S. K. Brown
Memorial Lecture which will be held Friday, March 15, 1996 at 8:00 p.m.
in the Lownes Room of the John Hay Library.
The speaker will be Byron Farwell, a leading historian of the British Army
and its campaigns of the 19th century. Mr. Farwell has written a number
of books on the subject including The Boer War,
Mr. Kipling's Army and Eminent Victorian Soldiers.
The next exhibit in the John Hay Library will be --;
"She is more to be pitied than censured": Women, sexuality
and murder in 19th century America.
The exhibit will open on April 1st and run thru the end of May.
