Cape Town is the oldest Jewish community in South Africa and was for many years, the principal center of Jewish communal life. This volume is the first Haggadah and the sixth Hebrew book to be printed in Cape Town. It includes the text in both Hebrew and English and is decorated with a series of illustrations based on those of the Amsterdam Haggadah, 1695.
