To create a new reserves list, first <a href=\"https:\/\/library.brown.edu\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/How-to-enable-Course-Reserves-in-your-Canvas-course.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enable your Course Reserves link in your Canvas course page\u2019s navigation menu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. After enabling your course reserves link, select <strong>Course Reserves<\/strong> from the navigation menu in your Canvas course page. Next, you\u2019ll be presented with a few options for creating your reserves list:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Create a new list from scratch<\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to create a new reserves list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create list from an existing list<\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to reactivate or use a previous list of resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ask your library to create your list<\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to upload a file of resources needed for the library to create the list on your behalf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Since we are creating a new list, select <strong>Create a new list from scratch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"9949\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image1-2-1024x557.png\" alt=\"select Course Reserves, then select Create a new\" class=\"wp-image-9949\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;Your <strong>List name<\/strong> will default to the name of your course, but you can edit this field to whatever you choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under <strong>Link to course<\/strong>, start by typing your course code or name to see a list of courses that you can associate&nbsp; your reserves list with. Select the correct course and semester that you would like the list to be associated with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have completed these steps, select the <strong>Next<\/strong> button to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"9951\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image3-2-1024x677.png\" alt=\"edit options, List name and Link to course, then select Next button\" class=\"wp-image-9951\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Choose which template you would like to use to display and organize your course readings. There are 3 options: <strong>Default<\/strong> (one section), <strong>Resource type<\/strong>, or <strong>Weeks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on each option from the dropdown menu to see a preview of what your list will look like in the <strong>Preview<\/strong> section. After selecting your template select <strong>Create <\/strong>list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"9950\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image2-2-1024x643.png\" alt=\"select options like Create sections, then select Create list\" class=\"wp-image-9950\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>5. This completes your initial list setup. Our system is configured to automatically publish your list to course students and to also send your list to the library for processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can begin adding reserves requests by selecting the <strong>Add<\/strong> button.
