To add requests or resources to your reserves list, start by selecting the green&nbsp;<strong>Add<\/strong>&nbsp;button in the upper left corner of your reserves list.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image8-1024x539.png\" alt=\"select Add button\" class=\"wp-image-10020\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>2. Next, you\u2019ll be presented with a few options for adding requests<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image2-1024x818.png\" alt=\"select Add button opens options dropdown menu\" class=\"wp-image-9917\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"#using-library-search\">Search the library<\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to search the library\u2019s BruKnow catalog to place a request for an item that is held in the library\u2019s current collection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add from Favorites<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#using-upload-a-file\">Upload files<\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to upload a PDF file from your computer. You may also add a brief citation when adding the request to your course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n        <strong>Add using DOI or ISBN<\/strong>&#8211; Enter a DOI or ISBN to search\n        for and enter a request.\n      <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n        <strong>Import references<\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to import requests\n        from a file from a citation manager\n      <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#using-blank-form\">Manual entry<\/a><\/strong>&#8211; Use this option to add a manual citation for a request, such as, to place an article or excerpt <a href=\"#scan-request\">scan request<\/a>, to submit a <a href=\"#purchase-request\">purchase request<\/a>, to add a weblink or to upload a PDF of a file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#top\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#top\">Back to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-library-search\">To add requests using the Search the Library option<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image1-8-e1720474288626.png\" alt=\"from dropdown menu select Search the Library option\" class=\"wp-image-10013\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Start by entering the title of a book, article or keyword into the search criteria field and then select the magnifying glass to search. In this example, we are searching for the book, <em>Doing more digital humanities<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image19-e1720474130116.png\" alt=\"example showing book keywords, Doing more digital humanities\" class=\"wp-image-10031\" style=\"object-fit:cover\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>2. If you have a lot of search results, you can use the Filter option to limit your results by Resource Type or Availability.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image16-1024x855.png\" alt=\"Filter options by Resource Type or Availability\" class=\"wp-image-10028\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>4. To add an item to your reserves list from your search results, you may hover your pointer\/cursor over the item in your search results and look for a green button with a \u201c+\u201d to appear, or click on the item you would like to add and then select <strong>Add<\/strong> or <strong>Add &amp; Edit <\/strong>from the list of options that appear in the citation to make further edits to your request.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image12-1024x384.png\" alt=\"select plus icon to add \" class=\"wp-image-10024\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image13-1024x868.png\" alt=\"select Add or Add &amp; Edit from the list of options that appear in the citation \" class=\"wp-image-10025\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>5. To add requests using the&nbsp;<strong>Manual entry<\/strong>&nbsp;option, enter the title of the item or reading into the&nbsp;<strong>Title<\/strong>&nbsp;field and enter the type of item you are requesting into the&nbsp;<strong>Type<\/strong>&nbsp;field. Next you\u2019ll be presented with additional citation fields for your request. On the next page you\u2019ll have some options for what section you would like to add the request to. These items can be items that you own a personal copy of that you will supply the library for scanning, or items that the library will need to purchase and scan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Film requests will not automatically reactivate when a Canvas page is created or reactivated.&nbsp; All reactivated requests will be reviewed and activated again for the current semester after a reserves list has been reactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"#top\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#top\">Back to top<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"creating-sections\">Creating new sections in your reading list<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library\u2019s Course Reserves service provides instructors with more options to organize and structure their reserves materials. You can create new Sections to list reserves materials by week, item type, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. While viewing your reserves list, to add a new section, go to&nbsp;<strong>Add&nbsp;<\/strong>and then select the option for&nbsp;<strong>New section.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image3-3-1024x756.png\" alt=\"select Add button opens options dropdown menu, select New section\" class=\"wp-image-9960\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>2. If you want to add more information to the item, click the&nbsp;<strong>ellipsis<\/strong>&nbsp;next to the item title and select&nbsp;<strong>Edit item<\/strong>.
