In 1917 he bequeathed a sum of money to the Library for the purpose of establishing a fund to benefit the Harris Collection. That fund, among others, has enabled the Collection to grow from the 4,129 volumes listed in the 1875 bibliography<em> Index to American Poetry and Plays in the Collection of C.
