Manuscript of “primera parte” of the complete work; of uncertain origin and provenance before it was purchased in 1905, in Paris, by George Earl Church. Written in two columns of 51-56 lines. Numbered leaf 192 lacking. Author’s name changed on title page from Bartholome Arzans de Orzua y Vela. Inscribed in red on title page, and in black on first page of main text, “De D. Luis Josef de Lacoa.”
This manuscript was the basis for pt. 1 of the transcription of the whole work published under title: Historia de la villa imperial de Potosí / por Bartolomé Arzáns de Orsúa y Vela ; edición de Lewis Hanke y Gunnar Mendoza.
