?Educational Value of Stamp Collecting?
Mr. Brown to David A. Jonah (University Librarian, 1949-1974)
Memorandum, 1962
Brown University Library Special Collections
Many universities had stamp collections in the mid-twentieth century, but only a few do today. In this memorandum to University Librarian David A. Jonah, the author explains the significance of the hobby and collections for educational and research purposes. He argued that stamps can be used to teach history, art, mathematics, science, civics, and geography.
