Gammell Fund in Support of Library Operations

gammellhh operations

Established in 1987 by Helena-Hope Gammell '48, Brown University Trustee from 1985 to 1991, to support library operations, with particular focus on the repair and maintenance of existing equipment and facilities, to be used at the discretion of the University Librarian.

The success and vitality of a library is dependent on many crucial variables, one of which is operations. In order to meet the aspirations of a world class research institution, the Brown University Library must support and develop its staff, facilities, infrastructure, and processes to ensure reliable, accessible, and transformative services, spaces, resources, expertise, and systems that can best enable scholarly success at the highest level. Endowment funds given in support of the Library's operations sustain these essential functions, allowing the Library to fulfill its mission to advance instruction, learning, and research at Brown in an environment of creativity and inclusivity.
