In Memory of Ruth Moskow, GP'94

Moskow

According to Thea Levey, P'94, her mother, Ruth Moskow, GP'94, the owner of these volumes, was "a true scholar, self taught in at least eight ancient languages, including Hebrew, Latin, Greek, Aramaic, Syriac, Ugaritic, Coptic, and Hieroglyphics. She had an intellectual courage that few men master, much less a woman of her time. Undaunted, she published papers and spoke before audiences of people with far more credentials, having a freshness of spirit and dedication to her topic free of the politics of academia." Mrs. Levey has also endowed a University fund in memory of her parents, known as the Ruth and Joseph Moskow Endowment in Judaic Studies. It supports national and international conferences, workshops, symposia and other scholarly programs in Judaic Studies.
