From the Library of Charlotte G. Snyder

SnyderCharlotte

Charlotte Garfunkel Snyder learned to read at the age of 4, and remained an avid reader throughout her life. Later, trained in psychology and psychometrics, and devoted to social justice, she discovered in science fiction the means to exercise her imagination while exploring solutions to human problems and dilemmas. Among her many volunteer activities, she reviewed new works of science fiction for her local public library - a task whose chief reward was the receipt of free books. She nurtured a passion for reading in all of her children, and infected them with a similar lust for good science fiction writing. This collection is donated in her memory by her daughters, Holly, Wendy and Robin, and her stepson Channing. Charlotte G. Snyder was the cousin of Stephen M. Nassau '61 and Peter A. Lewitt, MD, '72, and mother-in-law of Gavriel D. Ra'anan '75.
