McDowell, (Deborah E.) papers, 1968 - 2024
This collection consists of the personal and professional papers of Deborah E. McDowell, scholar of African American/American literature, and the Alice Griffin Professor Emerita of Literary Studies at the University of Virginia. She is internationally recognized as one of the major scholars in the field of African-American literature as well as a leading figure in the development of black feminist critical theory in the early 1990s.The collection includes scrapbooks, photographs, correspondence, writing drafts, and lecture notes dating from 1968 – 2024.Format(s):
