The Brown-Francis Family Papers featured in The Providence Journal

Today’s Providence Journal features an article about The Brown-Francis Family Papers, a collection which the Center for Digital Scholarship is in the process of scanning. The papers provide a unique perspective on early American life, and detail the activities of a colonial Rhode Island merchant family. 1,140 objects have been scanned to date, and all The Brown-Francis Family Papers featured in The Providence Journal

New project released: Harris Broadsides

The Harris Broadsides from the Harris Collection of Poetry and Plays, is a comprehensive collection of American poetry published in broadside format from colonial times to the present. Brown Daily Herald Digital Archive Featured in Scout Report

The BDH‘s Digitial Archive was recently featured in the Scout Report: Since 1891, the Brown Daily Herald has chronicled “political protest, athletic wins and losses, curricular changes, and students’ initiative.” Recently, Brown University’s Center for Digital Scholarship and the Herald began working together to create this digital archive of the paper. The Women Writers Project recently added fourteen new texts to Women Writers Online, its collection of women’s writing in English published before 1850.
