The Women Writers Project recently added fourteen new texts to Women Writers Online, its collection of women’s writing in English published before 1850. Highlights of the latest additions include Ann Cooke’s translation ofThe Sermons of Barnardine Ochine (1570), Eliza Haywood’sThe British Recluse (1722), Sarah Pennington’sAn Unfortunate Mother’s Advice to Her Absent Daughters (1773), Susanna Rowson’sThe Inquisitor; or the Invisible Rambler (1794), and the complete text of Charlotte Smith’s novelThe Old Manor House (1793). With the addition of these texts, Women Writers Online now contains more than 320 texts from the sixteenth through mid-nineteenth centuries.
