Hardware specification

A wall-sized display and video switcher:

  • Twelve NEC X551UN 55in. thin-bezel LED monitors (1920×1080) with wall-mount system custom made by Ambient Sound
  • Crestron DM-MD32X32 Digital Media matrix switcher
  • Fourteen Crestron DM-TX-200-C-2G WALL DigitalMedia 8G+ transmitters
  • Crestron TPMC-V15-TILT-B touchscreen
  • Crestron AV2 dual-bus control processor

A high-performance research computer:

  • Model: Dell Precision T7600
  • Operating system: Windows 7
  • Processor: Dual Six Core XEON (2.2GHz, 7.2 GT/s)
  • Memory: 32GB, DDR3 RDIMM Memory, 1600MHz, ECC (4 x 8GB DIMMs)
  • Boot (OS) Hard Drive: 256 GB,2.5″ SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive
  • Data drive: 2 × 2TB (7200 RPM 3.5″ SATA 6Gb/S Hard Drive) in a RAID 1 configuration
  • Graphics cards: 2 × AMD FirePro W600 graphic cards, each with six 1920×1080 outputs to drive the 12 display wall monitors
  • Software: We are happy to install most software on demand.
    Currently, our software offerings include: Google Earth, ArcGIS, Maple, Mathematica, Kaleidagraph, MATLAB, SEASR, Processing, Adobe Design Suite, Stata, Tecplot, Sigmaplot, Paraview, Blender.
