Lindsay Elgin
Photographer [Senior Library Technologist]
Lindsay has worked as a photographer at the Brown University Library since 2006. Specializing in a wide range of cultural heritage photography, she digitizes flat and bound materials, works of art, and three-dimensional objects in the Library’s Special Collections. She is also helping implement techniques such as reflectance transformation imaging and photogrammetry into the offerings for CDS, and is working to expand her knowledge of multi-spectral imaging and computational photography.
Lindsay has taught photography at Rhode Island School of Design’s Division of Continuing Education for 16 years, and served as the advisor for their certificate in digital photography for ten. She is a frequent guest speaker and juror for museums and galleries around New England, and her work has been exhibited locally, as well as in New York, Chicago, and Glasgow.
Lindsay holds a BA in Fine Arts from Amherst College, an MFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design, and an MLIS from Simmons University.
