Before you arrive
In order to prepare for the workshop and to get the most out of the planned sessions and interactions, here are some assignments:
Readings
Read these three articles:
- Anne, Kirk M., et al. “Building Capacity for Digital Humanities: A Framework for Institutional Planning.” ECAR working group paper. Louisville, CO: ECAR, May 31, 2017.
- Association of Research Libraries (ARL). Digital Scholarship Support Profiles. Please read 3 or more of the profiles
- Brenner, Aaron. Audit of ULS Support for Digital Scholarship. University of Pittsburgh, 2014.
The ECAR report has an excellent bibliography if you want to do further reading. Note particularly:
- Nancy Maron and Sarah Pickle, “Sustaining the Digital Humanities: Host Institution Support Beyond the Start-up Phase,” Ithaka S+R, June 18, 2014.
- Joan K. Lippincott and Diane Goldenberg-Hart. “Digital Scholarship Centers: Trends & Good Practice.” CNI 2014.
Give us a Google account that will be used to access a shared workshop space
We will be using Google drive and Google Docs extensively during the workshop for collaborative note-taking and document dissemination.
Please indicate your preferred Gmail address on this form.
Send a slide about your organization (only one per organizational team)
We’d like to have an introductory slide show to introduce us all to one another. The slides will be shown during the opening reception and at breaks. In addition, we would like to post the slides to the workshop website after the workshop.
Only one slide per institutional group, please. You are free to opt out of sharing your slide on the web.
Download the Powerpoint template, open it in Powerpoint, and add text and an image. You have a choice of two layouts (vertical and horizontal).
Save the Powerpoint file and send it to dspw@cni.org.
