
Virginia Vaughan (B.A., M.A., and Ph.D, University of Michigan), Professor Emerita and Research Professor in the English Department at Clark University, specializes in early modern English literature, with an emphasis on Shakespeare. She co-edited The Tempest in the Arden 3 Series (2011). In addition to numerous articles, her publications include Othello: A Contextual History (1994), Performing Blackness on English Stages (2005), The Tempest: Shakespeare in Performance (2011), and with Alden T. Vaughan, Shakespeare in America (2013), which traces Shakespeare’s role in American culture.
