The Liman Collection comprises the games displayed here. These objects – most of them game boards backed onto fabric instead of wood – were engraved or lithographed and then generally colored by hand. Many of the sets also include the tiny card-stock cases for these folding ‘boards,’ along with an instruction booklet, and for a few of them, the playing pieces and other accessories are also preserved.
