BUL Strategic Planning

Collections Goals

Class of 1886 bookplate

The Library’s priorities for Collections are grounded in the strategic objectives of Academic Integration and Innovative Practice, reflecting the Library’s creative problem solving in fulfilling its role as the University’s centralized agent for acquiring, curating, and facilitating access to the information resources and tools that are needed in the classroom, the study, the lab, clinical settings, and beyond. Collections must grow and be developed on an integrated basis across general, special, and digital materials so that they are keeping pace with University priorities and meeting program needs for new or enhanced resources for teaching and research. This will require a continuous program of collection assessment involving faculty, students, and staff in order to maintain a dynamic collection. Initial operational goals are:

  • Align the collections with academic priorities
  • Improve the collections’ physical ecosystem
  • Improve the collections’ digital ecosystem
  • Re-evision technical services
