World-class research universities require — and should expect to have — world-class research libraries. For Brown to realize its ambitious goals as a university, the Brown University Library needs to carry out its mission at a higher level, equivalent to that of the strongest academic and other departments on campus. Accomplishing this will require human, technological, and financial resources as well as active partnership both within and beyond the campus. Initial operational goals are:
- Strengthen the budget structure and process
- Develop and pursue a fundraising strategy
