	George M. Cohan These are four of the best-remembered songs that Cohan wrote and performed in his lively, all-American musical plays at the turn of the century. Cohan began his career in vaudeville, in his family's performing troupe. In 1904, he wrote and performed in Little Johnny Jones, about an American jockey in London, the "Yankee Doodle Dandy" of his song. Cohan, George M. The Yankee Doodle Boy. Little Johnny Jones.
