Upcoming First Readings Events

As part of the First Readings program, there will be three events at the end of September/beginning of October. The selection for this year’s First Reading program was the film Oil and Water which told the story of Hugo Lucitante (a member of the Cofan tribe in the Ecuadorian Amazon) and David Poritz (Brown ’12) as they Upcoming First Readings Events

Exhibit Celebrating the Rock’s 50th Anniversary

An exhibit honoring the Rockefeller Library’s 50th Anniversary will be on display this fall in the lobby cases of the Rockefeller Library. This exhibit will showcase various photographs, documents, and other ephemera from the building’s half-century of existence. International Literacy Day

The University Library invites the Brown community to recognize and celebrate International Literacy Day. For over 40 years, UNESCO has celebrated International Literacy Day. The focus this year is on “literacies of the 21st century.” As technology continues to change, the notion of literacy continues to evolve. Literacy has always been shaped by culture, history, language, religion, and International Literacy Day

Three New Engineering Databases Available Now!

The Library is happy to announce that we have subscribed to three new Engineering ebook collections: EnvironmentalENGINEERINGnetBASE Current; this collection contains current information on how to deal with age-old problems such as solid waste, air pollution, and remediation as well as discussions of the emerging concepts such as life-cycle analysis and new forms of efficient Three New Engineering Databases Available Now!
