Every Friday the 13th, the Brown University Library celebrates Carberry Day. From the Encyclopedia Brunoniana: On Friday, May 13, 1955, an anonymous gift of $101.01 was received by the University from Professor Carberry to establish the Josiah S. Carberry Fund in memory of his “future late wife.” A condition of the gift was that, henceforth, Happy Carberry Day!

John Hay Library Hours

Beginning on June 1st, the John Hay Library will be open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. In addition, items from the collections that are maintained on-site will be paged four times a day: twice in the morning (9:30 am and 11 am) and twice in the afternoon (2 pm and 3:30 John Hay Library Hours

Pembroke Record

The Center for Digital Scholarship has just completed work on the digital archive for the Pembroke Record. From 1923 to 1970, the Pembroke Record documented and commented upon life at Pembroke College in Brown University. Although the Pembroke Record ceased publishing decades ago, it has remained a valuable archival resource and an irreplaceable part of Pembroke Record

2010 Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Library Research Winners

In partnership with the Office of the Dean of the College, the Brown University Library is pleased to announce that Samuel Byker ’10 and Jonathan Hiles ’10 are the recipients of the fourth annual Undergraduate award for Excellence in Library Research.
