Winners of the Library Innovation Prizes for Research Rigor, Transparency, and Reproducibility and Carney Institute Brain Science Reproducible Paper Prize

For the second year the Brown University Library and the Carney Institute for Brain Science have partnered to recognize Brown students’ innovations in enhancing research rigor, transparency, and reproducibility. ILLiad system unavailable Wednesday-Thursday

The interlibrary loan system ILLiad, which the Library relies on to fulfill patron requests for certain materials from other libraries, will be unavailable starting the afternoon of Wednesday, April 3, and running through the following day. Service is expected to be restored by Thursday afternoon.

Planned maintenance and service interruption: multiple library systems

The library has scheduled an update and associated maintenance for the library catalog software on Tuesday, March 26 beginning at 10 am. This will require approximately eight hours of downtime for the library catalog and services tied to the software API. Planned system outage

The Library will be updating one of its core servers on Thursday morning, March 21. You may see instability in some Library services for a brief period of time. All buildings will remain open and all in-person services will continue to operate normally during the system update.

Change in access to the clinical information resource “UpToDate”

Starting on August 1, 2018, UpToDate (UtD) will only be available through the intranets of Brown’s affiliated hospitals (Lifespan, CNE, VAMC) or by individual subscription, and not additionally through the University Library.
