OCLC WorldCat Down for Maintenance from 11 p.m. on August 5 to 8 a.m. on August 6

A new OCLC Community News item has been posted: “Reminder: OCLC system downtime planned 5-6 August”. ————————————————————————————- Reminder: As part of ongoing work to maintain and advance our systems, we will be performing a disaster recovery exercise on 5-6 August that will require system downtime. Update 7/20/2017: ProQuest Databases have returned to working status!

ProQuest System Downtime 7/17/2017 ProQuest is currently experiencing system downtime and all ProQuest databases are unavailable. Notices are appearing on the databases and when they are working again those notices will be removed. In addition, a posting will appear here. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Update 7/21/2017: Newsbank/Readex Issues remain unresolved. Please see below for temporary access work-arounds.

For on-campus access, just remove the proxy prefix and go directly to the main URL. For example, if the URL is: https://login.revproxy.brown.edu/login?url=http://infoweb.newsbank.com/?db=AWNB Use http://infoweb.newsbank.com/?db=AWNB For off-campus access, download the VPN client from CIS at: https://www.brown.edu/information-technology/software/catalog/vpn-f5-desktop-client All Readex and Newsbank Databases Unavailable 7/13/2017 The following databases are currently unavailable. UPDATE 5/1: LexisNexis is Working!!

4/26/2017:LexisNexis is currently unavailable from off-campus. On-campus, you need to remove the phrase revproxy.brown.edu from your URL after you login to be able to search effectively in LexisNexis. The publisher and CIS have been notified and a notice will be posted here when the service is back up and working properly. We apologize for the UPDATE 5/1: LexisNexis is Working!!

JSTOR for Alumni is BACK!

We have finally resolved the issues with JSTOR for Alumni and it is now available. Thanks to everyone for your patience while we have been working to get this up and running on the new Alumni/Giving website.

RESOLVED!! ScienceDirect Issues with EZProxy and Multiple Browsers

Elsevier Publishing has announced that they are working to fix the problem that they are having with ScienceDirect, multiple browsers, and EZProxy. As we use EZProxy with ScienceDirect both on and off-campus, access to ScienceDirect is sporadic. We will keep you updated and announce when the problem has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience.
