Announcement | Anna Hernandez, Senior Library Specialist for Technical Services

The Library is pleased to welcome Anna Hernandez! Anna holds the position of Senior Library Specialist for Technical Services. Her work will focus primarily on cataloging our print collections in a variety of languages. One of her first projects will be cataloging a recently purchased collection of science fiction and fantasy works. Announcement | Sean Briody ’19, Library Student Employee, Receives Stillwell Prize

In April 2019, Sean Briody ’19 took first place in the John Russell Bartlett Society Stillwell Prize for Undergraduate Book Collecting for his distinguished collection of Brunoniana from the 19th and 20th centuries. Announcement | Amanda Strauss Named Associate University Librarian for Special Collections

The Brown University Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Strauss as Associate University Librarian for Special Collections. As Associate University Librarian, Ms. Strauss will oversee the University’s outstanding collections of rare books, manuscripts, archives, and other unique and special materials. Announcement | Allison Levy & House of Secrets International Book Tour

Allison Levy, the Library’s Digital Scholarship Editor and Visiting Scholar in Italian Studies at Brown, is the author of a new book, House of Secrets: The Many Lives of a Florentine Palazzo (Bloomsbury, 2019), currently being promoted through the U.S. and abroad. Lydia comes to us from Indiana University, where she worked as a copyright researcher for the IU Media Digitization and Preservation Initiative.
