For two and a half decades, Conjunctions has been at the vanguard of innovative fiction and poetry. First planned as a single volume, Conjunctions has remained committed to literature willing to take chances.
Conjunctions and Brown University have enjoyed a long association with many Brown faculty and graduates as frequent contributors. The John Hay Library is home to the Conjunctions archive including manuscripts, correspondence, original artwork and production records.
The Conjunctions Festival, which runs from October 5 – 7, offers readings and panels including more than a dozen writers, all open to the public. Expected participants include John Ashbery, John Barth, Mary Caponegro, Robert Coover, Rikki Ducornet, William Gass, Peter Gizzi, Shelley Jackson, Robert Kelly, Ann Lauterbach, Jonathan Lethem, Ben Marcus, Rick Moody, Bradford Morrow, Joyce Carol Oates, Joanna Scott, Peter Straub and John Edgar Wideman. For more information, see Literary Arts Program Events.
A major exhibit drawn from the Conjunctions archive will be available for viewing at the John Hay Library through October 13. The John Hay Library is open to the public, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
