Fans of Jack Kerouac have regularly lobbied  the U.S. Postal Service to issue a commemorative postage stamp honoring the author. In 1989, a group of artists called for submissions of Kerouac-related mail art and pseudo-stamp designs to support these efforts. The works were displayed at an exhibition in Berkeley, California.
