Currently, each LabArchives account has unlimited storage. The size limit for individual file upload is 4GB.

How do I configure my mobile device to use LabArchives with my Brown credentials?

We currently recommend using the browser-based version of LabArchives, and not the app, on mobile devices.

Where will my data be stored?

The LabArchives data are housed in US-based servers managed and maintained by LabArchives. Notebooks and data files exported and deposited into the Brown Digital Repository are managed and maintained by Brown University.

Does this ELN offer electronic signatures?

Yes, LabArchives is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant and once signed, those pages can no longer be changed.

Will I be able to use LabArchives with collaborators outside my lab?

Yes, there are several options that will allow you to use LabArchives with collaborators outside your lab.

Can I store human subjects data in my LabArchives notebook?

Treat your electronic lab notebook in the same way that you would treat a paper lab notebook when it comes to complying with your legal and ethical obligations for protecting human subjects’ privacy and confidentiality. LabArchives’ use is also bound by the same Brown policy on handling restricted information and IRB data protection protocols in place at Brown to protect human subjects. For questions, please read Brown’s Research Privacy Policy or contact Keri_Godin@brown.edu, Director, Office of Research Integrity.
