RefWorks: RefWorks is a Web-based bibliography and citation manager that allows you to create your own personal database by importing references from text files or online databases.

EndNote: EndNote is a software tool that helps you organize references, images, and PDFs in any language, and create bibliographies and figure lists instantly. Download and install the software from the Brown application server.

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, cite, and share your research sources. Zotero works right in your Firefox, Safari, or Chrome web browser and also has a stand-alone version.

Citation Linker: If you have a citation in hand from a bibliography or reading list, you can use the FIND IT! Citation Linker to find online full text and other FIND IT! services.

What Is Plagiarism?

The Brown Writing Center defines plagiarism as “appropriating another person’s ideas or words (spoken or written) without attributing those words or ideas to their true source.” Plagiarism is a violation of the Brown Academic Code. Plagiarism applies to the use of sources, lab work and assignments, creative work, exams, quizzes, and tests.
