Updates From Around the Library (November 2014)

The Library has been very busy this fall. Here are a few recent highlights from various Library blogs: The Hall-Hoag Collection Blog  had an informative post on photo preservation. Brown Curio has a great post on The Battle of Borodino. Wired Up and Plugged In recently posted that the issues with the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry have been resolved. Journal of Clinical Psychiatry Working Again

Issues with access to the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry from both on and off-campus have been resolved.  If you were one of the people who experienced trouble using this journal be sure to clear your browser’s Internet cache before trying again.  If you still have difficulty seeing full-text of articles send an email to eresources@brown.edu.

Check Out Books From Harvard, Yale, & Others

Current Brown students, faculty, and staff will now have on-site library borrowing privileges at: Columbia Cornell Dartmouth Harvard Princeton Yale University of Pennsylvania University of Chicago M.I.T. Johns Hopkins University Duke University. To borrow from one of the participating libraries, you will have to present your Brown ID. Pop-Up Culture: Juxtapositions from the John Hay Library

Pop-Up Culture draws on the extensive and varied collections at the John Hay Library. Starting with a selection of poetic works activated and projected through three-dimensional representation—or pop-up books—the exhibition proposes a range of comparisons including the literal (octopus to octopus), the genealogical (Brooklyn ferry to Brooklyn Bridge), and the meditative (mapping and being). CIS Alert: Google Email password issue

If you are receiving a password error when trying to access Google Email, please visit myaccount.brown.edu and select Change Google Password. Journal Citation Reports from Off-Campus – Working

Journal Citation Reports and Essential Science Indicators are working again through the proxy server for off-campus access. Currently Journal Citation Reports is not working with the proxy server.  Access is available using the VPN.  We are working to resolve this issue.
