Cass Wilkinson Saldaña: Social Sciences Data Librarian

The Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Cass Wilkinson Saldaña (they/them) as the Social Sciences Data Librarian. In this position, Cass will build and strengthen partnerships and provide instruction and research support for programs in Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, and other research areas that rely on numeric, financial, polling, and survey data. Connor Murphy: Senior Library Technologist for Digital Records, Projects and Application Support

The Library is pleased to welcome Connor Murphy as the Senior Library Technologist for Digital Records, Projects and Application Support within Digital Technologies. Connor will work on several systems that support research, digital preservation, teaching, and scholarship, including the Brown Digital Repository (BDR), CultureConnect for digital exhibitions, and other digital preservation tools. Last spring, Connor worked in a temporary position at the Hay and Connor Murphy: Senior Library Technologist for Digital Records, Projects and Application Support

Hilary Kraus: Health Sciences Librarian for Clinical Support

The Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Hilary Kraus as the inaugural Health Sciences Librarian for Clinical Support. In this new position, Hilary will be the primary liaison with responsibility for the clinical departments (including faculty and residents) of the Warren Alpert Medical School. Avery Kaletsch: Library Technical Assistant II -Stacks Maintenance

Avery Kaletsch is the newest member of the Stacks Maintenance Shelving team. Avery is new to Rhode Island and the Providence area, moving here from Mississippi. Avery previously worked at the Southern Mississippi Library as a library assistant in many roles. Katrina Jackson: Director of Cataloging and Discovery

Katrina Jackson has been named the new Director of Cataloging and Discovery. Katrina will bring a wealth of experience in leading cataloging and metadata teams for general, special, and electronic collections to Brown. She joins us from Swarthmore Colleage where she served as the Metadata Management Librarian. Katrina has also worked as the Cataloging/Metadata Librarian at Goucher College, Special Katrina Jackson: Director of Cataloging and Discovery

Laura Haygood: Health Sciences Librarian for Public Health

Laura Haygood will join the Library as the new Health Sciences Librarian for Public Health. Laura will be a member of the Health and Biomedical Library Services (HBLS) team of librarians who provide curricular and research support to the School of Public Health, the Division of Biology and Medicine, and life/health science-adjacent research at Brown. David Givens: Director of Resource Acquisitions

The Library is pleased to announce the appointment of David Givens as the new Director of Resource Acquisitions. David joins us from Loyola University Chicago where he was the Monographs Acquisitions Coordinator and the subject specialist for Fine Arts.  As the new Director of Resource Acquisitions, David will oversee the operations and processes for the Scholarly Resources areas of ordering, David Givens: Director of Resource Acquisitions

Jason Cerrato: STEM Instruction Librarian

The Library welcomes Jason Cerrato, the inaugural STEM Instruction Librarian.  Jason’s expertise in instructional design, working within project-based curricula, and library instruction delivered in a multi-modal, interdisciplinary education setting strengthens the Library’s support for STEM instruction. In this position, Jason will build and strengthen teaching partnerships and related library services in STEM disciplines, including designing, delivering, and assessing curriculum-aligned educational programming, conducting Jason Cerrato: STEM Instruction Librarian
